APC Support Group Begs Buhari To Intercede In Biafra Issue

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Coalition Support
Group, south-south chapter has advised President
Muhammadu Buhari to intercede and dialogue with the
Pro-Biafra agitators in order for peace to reign in the
south-eastern part of the country.

News Agency of Nigeria reports that the national vice
chairman of the group, made this appeal to the president
on Tuesday, December 8 in Abuja.

He said the agitators needed to be given a reason to
believe in Nigeria.

“At this juncture, let me call on the federal government to
dialogue with those agitating for Biafra, we must not treat
the call for the renewal of Biafra with an iron fist.
“We must let dialogue prevail by showing the Easterners
every reason why everyone, no matter the tribe, needs the
united nation of Nigeria,” he said

Obasogu applauded members of the group for the roles
they played during the 2015 general elections which
helped the APC to triumph.
Mr Sam Atasia, the national publicity secretary of the
group said it was important for the coalition support
group to support President Buhari. He expressed
optimism in the president’s ability to lead Nigeria right.

He said: “Supporting President Muhammadu Buhari will
enable us attain our desires and dreams as a nation.
“The purpose of this group is to drum up support for the
APC-led government and be a link between our members
and the government.”

Meanwhile, members of the Movement for the
Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra and the
Indigenous People of Biafra decided to put on hold
protests that rocked the country over the continued
detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra.
