After performing 179 shows across the world, Ed Sheeran
played the final stop on his Multiply tour in New Zealand,
where he announced it would be his last gig for a while.
A day later, the 24-year-old singer took to Instagram to tell
his fans that while he was on a career break, he would also
be enjoying some time away from social media.
In an Instagram post of a letter Ed had written explaining his
decision, he revealed: ‘I find myself seeing the world through
a screen and not my eyes.’

‘I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social
media for a while,’ he wrote, adding: ‘I’ve had such an
amazing ride over the last 5 years.’
‘I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere
or do anything to travel the world and see everything I
missed.
‘To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand
me buggering off for a bit. To my fans, the 3rd album is on
its way and is the best thing I have made thus far.
‘See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing.’

Ed Sheeran played the final stop on his Multiply world tour
show in New Zealand over the weekend, where he announced
it would be his last gig for awhile
The Thinking Out Loud singer took to the stage at Mount
Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday, and
shortly after Tweeted his excitement about coming full
circle.
‘One more show on the Multiply tour then I’m buggering off
for a while,’ The British musician wrote.
‘What a way to end it!’
The performance marks Ed’s last concert after four-and-a-
half years of touring, as he takes a break to get ear surgery.
The 24-year-old also shared a shot taken of the packed
stadium during his show, to which he simply captioned
‘Auckland!’
Exciting things on the way: In the post, Ed told his fans his
third album was on its way and that it was ‘the best thing I
have made thus far’
During the show, the flame-haired crooner took to the stage
in a replica All Blacks jersey to pay tribute to New Zealand
Rugby legend Jonah Lomu , who died last month age 40.
After his first song, the popstar turned around around to pick
up his second guitar, revealing the legend’s number eleven
etched across his back, to which the crowd immediately
erupted.
He also asked the crowed for 50,000 lights during one of his
songs, to which they happily obliged.
Performing ahead of his last epic performance were
supporting acts Rudimental, Passenger and Vance Joy.
